Every time we do a series like PureSex we get hammered by Christians of all stripes who think that we are going way overboard, talking about topics that should be left out of church, or doing it just to pull in a crowd so our numbers look better.

Do any of these numbers concern you?

35 percent of all Internet downloads are pornographic.

Every second, 28,258 Internet users are viewing porn.

89 percent of porn is created in the U.S.

$2.84 billion in revenue was generated from U.S. porn sites in 2006.

70 percent of the Internet porn traffic occurs during the nine to five workday.

260 new porn sites go online daily.

Imagine how crazy it is that a church would actually tackle a real problem that plagues real families. God forbid that we address a topic that actually has so much relevance that our attendance numbers go up because people need help.

According to these stats, looks like it's such an epidemic that we should be speaking to it a lot more often.
